My first 5K, Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run. Stephen Siller was firefighter in NYC on 9/11. He was at home in Staten Island, he was off duty when the towers were hit. He drove to Battery Tunnel and the traffic was stopped. He put on all of his gear and ran to the Towers. He died there. This run is in rememberance of him and the other 342 firefighters who lost their lives that day. This year, the Stephen Siller Foundation also teamed up with the Wounded Warriors Foundation, to help those soldiers who come home disabled with lost limbs. The Foundation builds smart houses for them.
